Rh blood group antigens are inherited similarly to the HLA antigens, in haplotypes or clusters. There are 2 genes, RHD and RHCE that are closely linked on Chromosome 1. Different combinations of antigens and haplotypes are seen at different frequencies based on a person’s race.
